ABC is currently developing a new Skating with the Celebrities-like reality series with Dancing with the Stars' BBC Worldwide production
Though there were definitely some skeptics in the start, Dancing With the Stars has been a huge success for ABC. So huge, that they're looking at doing variations on the show and, of course, Skating With the Stars is a natural twist.We think Skating With the Stars would be even more entertaining than Dancing With the Stars. Let's face it, anyone can dance if given a few lessons. But put someone in a pair of ice skates and put them on a rink and disaster could ensue. Imagine the injuries that could be sustained on the show!But then we remembered that a few years ago, Fox tried to do a show called Skating With Celebrities and failed pretty miserably. So, why would ABC basically try to replicate that show?We think the show's success all depends on the celebrities they bill for the show. Fox had Kristy Swanson, Bruce Jenner, and Dave Coulier. Not really celebrities many people go too crazy for these days. Of course, we'd love to see stars like Angelina Jolie, Tom Cruise, and Jennifer Aniston. But clearly, these current celebrities are too busy to participate and wouldn't risk breaking bones on the ice.We have to admit we'd probably watching Skating With the Stars for a change from Dancing With the Stars. Now that ABC has made their mark with the show, we think it is possible they could pull of a skating show as well.
