GRIEVING John Hickinbottom has told for the first time how his romance with Jade Goody’s mum collapsed after she lost their unborn baby.
John fell for Jackiey Budden when he met her in the Canaries, where they were both living at the time.
And he was overjoyed when 55-year-old Jackiey found she was pregnant.
The couple even discussed marriage and planned to buy a farm.
But as The People revealed last week, Jackiey had a miscarriage at 10 weeks.
And John, 45, insists the torment of their loss destroyed their relationship.
Reliving the moment Jackiey told him of the tragedy, the telecom worker said: “It was heartbreaking.
“She was back in England and I was in Tenerife and she was screaming down the phone at me.
“She was in so much pain but there was nothing I could do.
“I wanted this baby more than anything. It would have changed my life – and it would have helped Jackiey deal with her grief for Jade so much.”
Ripped
Reality TV star Jade was just 27 when she died in 2009 after losing her battle against cervical cancer.
Jackiey and John split three weeks ago after dating for three months.
Speaking after jetting back to the UK, John said: “I’d never met anyone I got on as well with as Jackiey – we just bonded.
“We had the same sense of humour and we would laugh and laugh.
“If we hadn’t lost the baby I think we’d still be together. But it ripped us apart.”
John went on: “Jackiey got pregnant the first time we slept together.
“At first she was shocked because of her age but after we talked about it a lot she came round and was excited.
“We even talked about the possibility of the baby being twins because we both have twins in our families.
“We were really looking forward to the baby and were going to buy a farm and bring up our child there.
“We also talked about getting married and Jackiey would send me postcards and letters when she was in London saying she was my wife-to-be.”
John added: “I’d tell Jackiey the baby was a present from Jade and we were all going to be happy together. But that won’t happen now.”
